We kicked off at 12pm Sunday 8th March lunch time with a meet at the luxurious Moyvalley Hotel just outside Enfield.

15 cars were paraded outside both the hotel and Ballyna Country House where some nice photographs were taken. We also had a visit from a reporter from the Leinster Post where some photos and a report will appear in the next week or two.

We were greeted by Terry O Doherty general manager who had arranged a hot wine punch reception and a meeting area in the main hall. All who were present enjoyed an excellent lunch served in the main bar.

At the end of lunch both Dave Gorman and Paddy Mc Manus presented prizes for the best classic car which was a glorious 1985 911 Turbo, best modern which was a 2006 Black Boxster S and a bunch of flowers for best dressed lady.

After this we arranged a drive to Lough Owel where we stopped for a view of the stunning hills and lake off the N4. The windy conditions knocking a few cobwebs off those that were brave to get out of their cars....

From here we went to The Covert Pub for a coffee and some old tales of cars and the dreaded recession and of course the next purchase of car when the Celtic Tiger comes roaring back to town.

A good day was had by all and we all look forward to the next outing. Thanks to all who turned up and congratulations to our prize winners.

Thanks for your support on the day !
