Saturday 28th February 2009 saw the Porsche Club Ireland Annual Dinner. The venue this year was in the Royal county of Meath at the station house hotel.

43 members booked their place, which was a good turnout, considering the rugby was on!

On the Saturday afternoon some drivers chose to accept Dave Whelan’s offer of a drive, visiting Skerries, the wider Dublin and Meath area. Rumour has it some people (including the leader) got lost and took diverse routes back to the hotel. They all managed to meet up just before arring at the hotel - so there was no loss of face for any party.

Following some light drinks in the bar (whilst watching the rugby), members got to re-aquaint themselves with the various tall tales that sometimes crop up when Porsche owners meet up. Whilst Bob Cameron was missing - some of the stories were so over the top, we knew Bob was at least there in spirit !

After the rugby and a few drinks, everyone moved over in a timely manner to the carriage suite where a 5 course dinner was served from 8pm. The standard of the food and service was excellent and everyone really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

A 'name that car' quiz caused some serious competition amongst members after the dinner. The format was simple - try to identify the exact car (make & model) from a partial photograph. There were 2 tied winners and 2 runners up.
