I organised this run at short notice to try and get cars out before some were stored for the winter. Considering that it was the bank Holiday weekend and any people had Jazz plans we had a nice selection of cars, 997 Turbo, 997GT3, 944 Turbo, 964 Carrera 4, 911 3.2, 996, Boxter and 911SC.

We started in Cork at Eddie Rockets Diner / Topaz Service Station and travelled past Cork Airport and on to Crosbarry via Halfway. We then took the mountain road to Ovens and on to Crookstown and on to the famous Banrty Line and through the historic village of Beal Na Blaith and on to Coppeen and bypassed the Kilmichael Ambush site ( where Michael Collins died) to save time . We then passed through Dunmanway and on to Rosscarbery and ended up in beautiful Glandore ( probably the most beautiful costal village in Ireland) at Marine Hotel for lunch. The weather was beautiful and the mountain scenery was at it best on the way to Glandore.

Hotel proprietor Shane O Brien has a mk1 GT3 and his brother in law Eoin Marshall has a lovely 50 yr old 356 that he imported from South Africa. The car is totally original but it needs a bare metal re spray but has no rust.

After a long lunch break and lots of conversation we travelled back to Clonakilty – Timoleague- Pink Elephant and finished in Kinsale.

It was great to meet 2 new Porsche owners Oliver Stack and his wife and Tony Dunne and his son.

It was fantastic to meet Club President Dave Whelan on his return from the prize giving ceremony and congratulate him after his very successful racing season in England where he finished 2nd in his Class in Porsche Open Series.

Well done Dave and hopefully you will do one better next year.

Big thanks to every body and hope to see you all again in not too distant future.

PS. Club membership forms can be downloaded from our website www.porsche-club-ireland.com and we will be very happy to have as many members as possible for 2009-2010.
